I'm addicted to free demos. They last just long enought to satisfy, so much that I hardly play Assasinns CreedII anymore.......time to trade it in for MGS4.

Also love the netflix stream for documentaries and foreign (skin)flicks.

my reviews

MW2: FTW, but getting boring, time for a DLC update
Ass Creed 1/2: FTL
Uncharted 2: FTMFW
SF4: FTW
FIFA10: FTMFWOMGBBQ!
Heavy Rain: just started "playing", but so far it's unlike any game I've seen. Adult themed and you actually become vested in the characters.. so far so FTW

As for GT5, I think they made the decision to revamp the physics engine and add damage AFTER GT5:P was already in development. If the damage engine is on par with that of the first two PS2 TOCA games, GT5 should be awesome.

Yeah, I made the mistake of making an impulse buy with ASSCreed. It was neat the first day...but now it's just repetitive. It seems like everyone is doing the GTA-style of gameplay nowadays.

Thank god for free demos and a Blockbuster right down the street from me. Rented MW2, played for a day or so and got tired of the run-n-gun gameplay.

Rented NFS:SHift, bleh, returned it after 3 days.

Picked up SF4 used for $23 at Gamestop, love it! But think I will need the arcade stick to be competitive online. I get my assed handed to me.

Currently renting Battlefield:BC2 and it literally has blown me away. The graphics, the sounds, the realism is amazing. I might never go back to PCs unless I have a $6000 gaming rig.

Picked up God of War 1&2 remastered for PS3 (used) for $27 at Blockbuster, LOVE IT. I finished GOW1 on the PS2 but the graphics on 2 is amazing. The gameplay is so unique and original. Also downloaded the GOW3 demo, OMFG. Fuck, I can't wait for that but will most likely buy it after people have finished it and returned it to Gamestop.

Vinh (VPC) convinced me to get Little Big Planet, so I'm looking out for a used copy.

Final Fantasy already pre-ordered, so the nerdness begins next week.

Also just figured out how to stream vids and music to the PS3 so i can now enjoy Top Gear in HD and Lost on my flatscreen. I'm lovin' it.

I can't emphasize enough how awesome Battlefield:BC2 is.

The realism of being in a tank with RPGs and a frackin' UAV with Hellfire missiles coming at you is so intense.

The stress of sitting there by yourself while capturing a flag waiting for the enemy to lurk around the corner to knife you is enought to give me a mild heart-attack.

On the other hand, the thrill of creeping on a sniper and knifing him gets so intense I always find a way to fuck it up and get myself killed even though I got the element of surprise on my side.

The sounds in 5.1 Dolby puts in right in the action, when a bullet from a sniper bullet just barely misses you, the debris from the wall behind you sprays in your face and your hear it crumble to the ground.

No longer are campers safe on top of a roof because you can blow the whole house up until he comes crumbling down.

I can't wait to get home!

I got paid a licensing fee of a few thousand dollars since they used my pictures as reference for the cars.

My brother in law got BC2 last night.

It is the greatest game ever.

Playing it loud in surround is amazing! The bass of distant blasts and gunshot echos is awesome!

And then I played a rush style game in hardcore mode. Holy shit that's fun!

I'm never going back to pc. I'm getting my copy after work!
Ill give u a call later tam. Haha

About frickin' time! You should get Jay on tonight also, we have enough for our own squad now with me,tommy, you and jay. Vinh (VPC) also plays it.

Yeah, it's gonna be hard to ge back to PC, especially on HDTV with surround sound.

Anybody else have the older fat PS3? Had mine since launch and the only time it had a hiccup was at the end of last month when ALL the older style PS3's had a problem with the PSN. I thought it crapped out on me, I was surprised when Sony fixed everything so quickly. And for a service that's provided for free (PSN) that's pretty dang quick.

For games, I was sick of MW2 after about a month, I actually prefer the first one. It's feels more raw to me. Can't wait to try out BC2 soon, also Heavy Rain, GOWIII.

I can't wait for GT5, got my ghetto race seat with racing wheel and pedals already to go. Prolouge and GT4 has been keeping satisfied with driving games though. If anyone wants all the cars I got a disc with all the cars on it, including the F2007 laying around somewhere. My PS3 is at home running the 24 hour Circuit de la sarthe race right now! I better be in the lead when i get home. To race a 24 hours and get 2nd would just be silly.

Have a launch 60gig, died once after a firmware update that took out a lot of them (allegedly--no fessin' up from Sony, just a lot of people posting about their console's demise) . Optical drive refused to read discs, got worse after that. Out of warranty repair, working fine since then.

Surprised no no one's mentioned Resistance and Resistance 2 or Bioshock and Bioshock 2. You have to get Resistance if you have a PS3. Enjoyed the creepiness of the Bioshock games.

Didn't much care for Killzone2, MW and MW2 were OK.

Still waiting for GOW3 and GT5.

From now on, I think I am only going to get games that have online play. Most single player games bore me after a short time, and I rarely have the time to sit down and grind through levels for hours at a time. The only thing that keeps a game going for me is the online competition. I like that I can jump online and play a few 10-15 minute rounds, and then turn it off and go to sleep.

It's pretty obvious MW2 was made primarily for online play, because the single player campaign is ridiculously short. I'd be pissed if it was only a single player game.

I feel the same way about online play, the real value of the game is shown when you can play online for hours on end. In the old days we paid $60 for the game itself and were confined to playing single player or multi if your buddies were over, now we get to play the multi player games until 3 am while our wives/girlfriends are sleeping!

Sawyers, Bioshock and resistance were both great games, haven't checked out Bioshock 2 yet. And of course nobody has mentioned one of my all time fav's GTA IV! Massive game.

The PS3 equivalent of the XBOX360's Red Ring Of Death is the Yellow Light of Death (YLOD). Similar causes, bad motherboard design for chips that run too hot, combined with the ROHS bullshit that removed (flexible) lead from solder.

Got the YLOD on my PS3 a couple of weeks ago, just reflowed it tonight. Used a Wagner HT1000 heat gun, Kester 951 flux, and Arctic Silver 5 to do the repair. Burning in now, after running a backup on it as soon as I could. Been up and running for 2 hours so far getting abused by Folding@home.

If you get hit by the YLOD, Gilksy's guide will get you through:
