Default Guns on 2010 tax return?

What the fuck is this about... I got this in an email today at work.. Is this legit or what?! If i had more time id read more into it, but ive got like 2000 emails to catch up on after being on my honeymoon for 2 weeks.

Sounds like serious bullshit out here for us ohio boys. Most of my guns came from private owners and were purchased at gun shows...

Quote:
Guns must be listed on 2010 tax return

This is true people.
Sounding more and more like Nazi Germany or Communist
Russia everyday........... Every American should be
worried about the direction this country is headed!

I looked on the below website to see if this is legit.... The
link below is what I found.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/guns/blairholt.asp

More good news from our beloved administration........

Now 'all Guns' must be listed on your next (2010) tax return!
As if we didn't have enough to get upset about!

Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal
tax form all guns that you have or own. It will require fingerprints and
a tax of $50 per gun.

This bill was introduced on Feb.. 24, 2009, by the Omama staff.
BUT . . this bill will only become public knowledge 30 days after the
New law becomes effective ! This is an amendment to the
Internal Revenue Act of 1986. This means that the
Finance Committee has passed this without the Senate voting on
it at all. Trust Obama ? ..... you must be kidding
The full text of the IRS amendment is on the U.S. Senate
homepage,U.S. Senate You know who to call; I strongly suggest you
do. Please send a copy of this e-mail to ever y gun owner you
know.
Text of H.R.45 as Introduced in House: Blai r Holt's Firearm Licensing
and Record of Sale Act of 2009 -U.S.... Open Congress
Obama's Congress is now starting on the firearms confiscation
bill. If it passes, gun owners will become criminals if you
don't fully comply.
It has begun . . .Whatever Obama's secret Master Plan is....
this is just the 'tip of the iceberg!'
Very Important for you to be aware of another new bill HR 45
introduced into the House. This is the Blair Holt Firearm
Licensing & Record of Sale Act of2009.
Even gun shop owners didn't know about this
because the government is trying to fly it
under the radar as a 'minor' IRS revision, and, as
usuual, the 'political' lawmakersdid not read this
bill before signing and approving it !

To find out about this - go to any government website and type
in HR 45 or Google HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing &
Record of Sales Act of 2009. You will get all the information.

Basically this would make it illegal to own a firearm - any
rifle with20a clip or ANY pistol unless:

-It is registered -You are fingerprinted
-You supply a current Driver's License
-You supply your Social Security #
-You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of
their choosing -Each update - change of ownership through
private or public sale must be reported and costs $25
- Failure to do so you automatically lose the right to own a firearm and
are subject up to a year in jail.
-There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a
child-access provision. Gun must be locked and inaccessible to any
child under 18.
-They would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun
safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to
5 yrs. In prison.

If you think this is a joke - go to the website and take your pick of many
options to read this. It is long and lengthy. But, more and more people are
becoming aware of this. Pass the word along. Any hunters in your family pass
this along.

This is just a "termite" approach to complete confiscation of guns and
disarming of=2 0our society to the point we have no defense - chip away a
little
here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone realizes it.

This is one to act on whether you own a gun or not..

Hm interesting. I was a bit copnfused reading this thread, so I searched. First it's talking about a supposed bill to make you list firearms on your taxes, but then strangly shifts to another bill about registering to own a gun. The snopes article has nothing to do with the tax thing. Here's what I found out:

Thing 1:
Quote:
Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal

a tax of $50 per gun.

FALSE! This is an old bill introduced in 2000, and failed. There's noting in 2009 about taxes and guns.

Thing 2:

HR 45

This one is true, but has no backing and will more than likely be squashed as well.

Gotta love FUD emails chocked full of lies to stir up the masses. Our guns are safe for now, no need to panic.

I heard when they come to exterminate all the old people they're going to take my guns away at the same time. When I say I "heard" that, I meant it was the voices in my head.

Gun control laws in Canada are getting more lenient... They're basically gutting the Bill C68 firearms control act.

It's a good day for Canada!

It's kind of a misconception in the States that it was the British (ie: British people from Europe) that burned down the White House. Back then, Canada was called "British North America." And the burning of the White House was purely retribution for the looting of the town of York (that would become Toronto) and the burning down of the Canadian parliament buildings.

Which reminds me, when I was a kid in school we'd sing "God Save the Queen" along with "Oh Canada" before school in the morning. So, we're still pretty British I guess.

Personally, (as a Canadian) I think America is better than Canada in almost every way. I'm super pro-America. There's nothing more that I like than going to the states for some Buffalo Wild Wings, and some American cigarettes, and some incredibly inexpensive gasoline. Oh, and I hear that you have King cans of Bud Light Lime there? Sign me up, I want to immigrate. I prefer Football to Hockey and hate Canadian politics, music and media with such intense prejudice that its almost unhealthy.

Oh, and "free" health care is not as good as most Canadians (and Obama) would make it out to be... There's advantages, but it's a complicated situation. I'd prefer an American system in most ways... Please don't tell my fellow Canadians... lol

So it was the BRITISH that burned the White House since Canada didn't become a country until 1867 I believe.

"In 1814, during the War of 1812 (yes, the war of 1812 continued after 1812 ended) a group of British soldiers set Washington D.C ablaze. Included in the buildings damaged by the fire was the White House."

I like the US as much as the next guy and gotta agree it's a great place to visit, pick up cheap stuff, also winter weather in Florida is wayyyyyy nicer than here (unless you snowboard or ski or snowmobile, etc) but I'm not so sure I'd love to live there.

The great disparity in distribution of wealth means more crime and more poverty. And you can't ignore the benefit of having universal health care (not trying to stir up the current US health care debate, just sayin how it is here)

The US is a great place to be if you're rich or well-off but by almost every measure of well-being, Canada ranks significantly higher than the USA for standard of living.

Upon further research, Washington was burned by British troops commanded by the Governor General of Canada Sir George Prevost.

True, they do have more poor people per capita... But really if I had to move to another country... I'd have to pick Finland... Must be something in the water...

Quote:
Relative to its population, Finland has been a top country in the world in automobile racing, measured by international success. Finland has produced three Formula One World Champions – Keke Rosberg (Williams, 1982), Mika Häkkinen (McLaren, 1998 and 1999) and Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari, 2007). Along with Räikkönen, the other Finnish Formula One driver currently active is Heikki Kovalainen (McLaren). Rosberg's son, Nico Rosberg (Williams), is also currently driving, but under his mother's German nationality. Other notable Finnish Grand Prix drivers include Leo Kinnunen, JJ Lehto and Mika Salo. Finland has also produced most of the world's best rally drivers, including the ex-WRC World Champion drivers Marcus Grönholm, Juha Kankkunen, Hannu Mikkola, Tommi Mäkinen, Timo Salonen, and Ari Vatanen. The only Finn to have won a road racing World Championship, Jarno Saarinen, was killed in 1973 while racing.

I wouldn't mind trying out the great white north for a bit. I've frequented Vancouber quit a bit and loved it. But then again, the $1.60 Canadian I got per $1 US years ago might have had something to do with it. Loonies and toonies for DAYS!

It's not that bad... I live in Winnipeg, the murder capital of Canada... I don't know about Vancouver, but here most of our crime is committed by and committed against a particular demographic within a particular neighborhood or two.

Unless you're looking for trouble here, trouble won't find you very often.

I also live in the auto theft capital of Canada. But nobody steals Hondas, or any other desirable car, really. Our auto theft is mostly ghetto ass kids too young to drive, stealing mini vans and piece of shit cars... They won't touch anything with a manual tranny LOL
